Guidance for various Engineering Entrance Exams

Joint Entrance Examination- Main (JEE-Main) : JEE Mains former AIEEE is an all India Entrance exam conducted by National Testing Agency after class XII for joining Engineering programs at NITs, IIITs and centrally funded technical institutions like IIST based on rank secured in exam. It’s also an eligibility test for appearing in JEE Advanced exam. Since 2021, the test is being conducted 4 times every year, spanning from January to May.

JEE Advanced: JEE (Advanced) is conducted by the one of the 7 IITs ((IIT Roorkee, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, and IIT Guwahati) under guidance of Joint Admission Board (JAB). It’s the only mode for students to join IIT and only candidates who qualify the JEE Mains are admissible to take the test. Admission to the qualifying students is granted in various undergraduate Engineering and other science programs offered at IITs, IIST and many other colleges.

BITSAT: Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT )is an all India level computer based online entrance exam conducted for Class XII students to seek admission to integrated first degree programs such as B.E., B.Pharma, M.sc offered at BITS campuses in Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad. Notifications are out in the month of December and online tests are held in the month of May / June.

VITEEE: Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) conducts the online Engineering Entrance Test (VITEEE) for admission of students to its various B Tech Degree programs. Online applications are available from December and the test is held in March.

GUIDANCE IN OTHER COURSES

AFCAT: Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) is an Onlineentrance exam conducted by Indian Air Force to select Class-I Gazette Officers who are eligible and desirable candidates for multiple posts in Flying and Ground Duty [Technical and Non- Technical].
It’s a gateway to join Indian Air Force after graduation for both male and female candidates for both Short Service Commission in Flying Branch and Permanent Commission/Short Service Commission in Ground Duties for both Technical and Non-Technical.Candidates are selected based on their performance in the online exam and Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) interview. Candidates opting for Ground Duty (Technical) branches are required to appear in both AFCAT and Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT).

CDS : Combined Defence Service Examination(CDS exam) is an exam conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) for graduates or those appearing in final year for recruitment of Commissioned Officers in the Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Indian Air Force Academy. Though women candidates are only eligible to appear for Officers Training Academy.
